Charming 20th-century petite ceramic table lamp, finished with a Sgraffitto outline of the flowers and leaves, revealing the clay beneath, then hand painted and glazed. Most likely of Italian manufacture. Cheerful floral hand-painted decoration in red, blue, yellow and green.

Sgraffito is a ceramic technique that involves scratching into a pot’s surface to create a design. The word “sgraffito” comes from the Italian word meaning “to scratch”.

Good vintage condition. Original wiring in working order. Felted base (could be marked underneath). One small chip along the ridge at midpoint near the side; one glaze skip along the ridge near the front. Please see photos.
