Description
The Bamboletto Daybed is part of the Le Bambole furniture collection, an innovative furniture piece designed by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia in 1973. This masterpiece blends functionality with a timeless design and comfortable seating, promising to elevate any living room. In 1972 B&B Italia (known as C&B at the time) presented Le Bambole sofa collection to the world, a midcentury modern collection of revolutionary upholstered furniture items. Cozy softness, plush roundness, italian style and playful informality are the main features captured by the Bellini Design in this collection.
Multiple award-winners through out the years and recipients of the Compasso d’Oro award in 1979, the Bamboletto is an expression of Italian Design, featuring a minimalist design, reduced to an archetypical idea of a cushion. The precise geometry of the stitches and covers makes the piece iconic, which was originally stuffed with a material that was the forerunner of memory foam. Later on, the frame was removed, improving comfort and allowing the stuffing to support the daybed on its own. This lounge seating could be perfect as a comfortable spot to lounge and relax. Whether you’re watching a movie or enjoying an afternoon nap, his functional design and comfortable seating always promise an incredible experience. The Bambolettto can also be a convertible sofa and can be used as a double bed.
This item is in very good condition, in a sugar paper color, a midcentury-modern original piece from 1973s.
