Stunning and very rare Artona 8551 armchair designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and produced by Maxalto in the early 1980s.
The armchair is entirely made of very soft biscuit-coloured leather and is in excellent condition, characterized by complex stitching reminiscent of the seats of vintage luxury cars.
Extremely rare version, and currently the only one on the market, without wheels and without armrests, with the characteristic hollow cut on the back, typical of Scarpa cousins, rarer collector’s item than the Africa model.
Tiny signs of aging on the leather as shown in the photographs give it authenticity and a beautiful patina of age.
