Stunning Victorian compactum wardrobe, having olive cornice, central mirrored door having intricately carved detail around the mirror; four central drawers with knob handles, flanked by arched panel doors on a platform base.
The left hand side robe is fitted with hooks, whilst the right hand robe has two wooden shelves and a fitted hat box.
The compactum has a fabulous patina that can only come with age and use. It does have a couple of small flaws – there is a crack to the wood to the left hand side of the mirror – it’s stable and does not affect the integrity of the wardrobe – it actually gives is a more historic look… also, there are two small mouldings missing from two of the drawers – these could very easily be replaced!
Regardless of it’s minor issues – the piece is sturdy and strong and has outlived two world wars – and so I’m Sure it will be around for generations to come! I
