Description
A superb 18th century Cardiganshire oak dresser of unusually slight proportions. This provincial estate made piece is a rare find, full of charm with a warm patina. The rack, with a well made cornice has superb rustic back boards, two shelves with original blacksmith forged hooks,to the upper shelf, with the rare feature of an incorporated original spoon rack to the left hand side for six spoons. The base (which separates from the rack for ease of moving) has three drawers with a good set of later brass handles, which sit over shaped arches that add character to the apron, raised upon tall silhouette baluster shaped legs that unite the pot board shelf, which is raised on block feet.
A great statement piece for that country look, a true antique with attractive patina built up over 250 years of use, wear and love.
Dating to the 18th century

It is in good age related condition, this piece does have imperfections, with a few splits, marks, knocks and bumps which one would expect on a 18th century dresser that has been used and loved!
