Description
Painted pine glazed cupboard.
An English piece dating from the mid 19th century c.1850-1870.
Originally part of a much larger piece. Likely three times this size with cornices and plinths. A grand statement for a country manor.
There was a scumble finish which we have gently washed back to the original cream base coat. Sat by a fire, the paint has crackled, a unique naturally occurring finish.
Internally, the lower cupboard, a pair of shelves, one added more recently which can easily be removed. The upper glazed section, with the original hand blown glass, three original pitch pine shelves.
