Description
A true English antique, this oak coffer dates to the 17th century, from the period of Charles II. It continues to be a useful piece of furniture, combining characterful storage capacity with a flat display surface.
– Carved panelled front, with circular bounded leaf or petal motifs.
– 2 plank top, with eyelet hinges.
– Panelled sides and back.
– Internal candle box.
– Lock plate in position, but no key.
– Rectangular section legs.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There are some minor signs of historical dead woodworm, but these are not appreciable.
