Antique late Victorian Carved Oak bureau bookcase having profuse carvings to the cupboard doors and fall front, with a decorative moulded crown, all furnished with decorative solid brass handles and resting on bracketed feet!Wow! This is a fabulous, quality piece of antique furniture!!!
The bookcase has three adjustable shelves and the fall front is fully fitted which includes two secret drawers and a carved central small door. The pull outs that suspend the fall front are in good order – although the left hand side handle is missing leaving just a little nub to open.
We have left as is to maintain its integrity. The tip of the wing to the right hand side of the crown is also missing. Despite these two smallIssues it remains a fabulous piece! The base drawers are all graduated. This piece affords great storage… it is solid and sturdy and in beautiful condition.
It came from a very grand home as I’m sure you can tell! The piece splits into two for ease of movement and transport purposes.
