Stunning 4 Piece Silver Tea Set By George & Michael Crichton and assayed in Edinburgh during 1876/77.
The elaborate set consists of a Coffee Pot, Tea Pot, Lidded Sugar Bowl and Cream Jug.
Each piece is intricately engraved with floral decoration and multiple panels around their bodies. The handles too are elaborately made to resemble the body of an angel splaying their wings.
The whole set was assayed between 1876 and 1877, and for its age, is in mint condition. The set is contained in individual chamois bags to protect each piece and keep them pristine.
The coffee pot measures 18cm handle to spout, 13.5cm across its body and 31.5cm in height. It weighs a total of 984g.
The tea pot measures 18cm handle to spout, 15.5cm across its body and 22cm in height. It weighs a total of 923g.
The sugar bowl measures 21cm handle to handle, 13cm across its body and 21cm in height. It weighs a total of 701g.
The cream jug measures 11cm handle to spout, 9cm across its body and 17cm in height. It weighs a total of 307g.
In total the set weighs 2915g.
