A very rare Art Deco ceramic Carlton Ware pottery Ashburton Devon souvenir advertiser Preserve Pot C.1926+

 

A very unusual and rare Carlton Ware Preserve Jar and Cover on an orange ground bearing the crest for the Devon town of Ashburton, bearing the Latin motto ‘ Fides Probata Coronat ‘ (English translation: Confirms whathas been proved good and true) – the motto being used by the town of Ashburton in Devon, so this rare piece is a souvenir advertising the town, the lid with written text ‘ Preserve’ and having a wonderful fruit finial.

Circa 1926+

Good Antique Condition with slight wear to the black rim band and dis-colouration marks inside possibly from time of manufacture all mentioned for accuracy but please see images
