A sweetmeat dish is a type of serving dish used to present and consume small, sweet, or savory snacks, often at the end of a meal. These dishes were commonly used during the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly for serving items like sugared nuts, candied fruits, and other confections. The term “sweetmeat” itself referred to these sweet or savory treats, often made with sugar or chocolate, according to the Victoria and Albert Museum.
