An antique Ceylonese (Sri Lankan) porcupine quill and ebony fitted Workbox, having inlaid decoration. The internal with a ‘lift-off’ compartmented shelf, each compartment with lids. A highly decorative box. Key present.

 

Circa 19th century

 

Good overall antique condition with minor signs commensurate with age as expected, the lock clicks when opened/locked and some of the small dot inlaid decoration looks like they have been filled and one of the shelf rings missing – please view images
