The artist attributes the image of “emptiness” to the spirit, almost defining its unknowable and intangible nature, which has always belonged to it but, at the same time, is existential because it depends entirely on what is missing.

In 2010, on the occasion of the XI National Chinese Olympic Games, Rivelli created a colossal bronze sculpture weighing twelve hundred kilograms, “Tajshan Kid,” placed outside the stadium in the city of Jinan, becoming a symbol of the sporting event. In the same year, the Chinese Post Office, to celebrate Rivelli’s artistic work, issued an 80 RMB stamp dedicated to him.
