An antique Georgian English Rockingham treacle pottery lion paw furniture support C.1825

An antique Georgian English Rockingham pottery treacle glazed lion paw furniture support / sash window Stop.

These are often referred to as sash window supports, however there is no evidence of this and given the tops have a slight lip it is more likely they were used as supports for furniture such as a table or a dresser to raise the legs off flagstone floors and thereby protecting from damp.

Good overall antique condition with a little area of glaze loss and tiny chip as images and a tight line from base rim running up the front of the item – please view images
