Description
A great decorative piece which can also be very useful, this French grape hod has a variety of possible functions, perhaps as a log container, storage bin for outdoor items and wellington boots, or even as a planter.
– Black with gilt lettering and cross keys motif.
– Originally used to harvest grapes in France.
– Large enough, at 79 cm in height, to be used as a functional storage bin.
– Original wooden back with one of the leather straps attached and the end pieces of the other.
– Iron bound base.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There is some minor internal surface rust, but there are no weaknesses or holes in the metal. Only one of the original leather straps remains and this is no longer attached to the bottom loop.
