Description
A marvellous pair of carved 17th century oak bench ends, these originate from a private collection and will make wonderful decorative pieces, even perhaps being used for their original purpose at either end of a plain bench.

– Mythical beasts below the cherubs, possibly a griffin and a lion.
In generally sturdy condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There is some woodworm damage at the backs, as to be expected for pieces of this age, and there is some visible glue in some of the joints.
