Description
A wonderful statement piece, this 19th century terracotta figure is in the form of an angel and originates from a French church. At under a metre in height, it is a good size as an interior decorator’s piece and will look fabulous in a prominent display position.
– Blue robes with patterned gilt edging and gilt highlights on the wings.
– Figure holds what appears to be a lamp, which has a small hole in the top, possibly to hold something narrow.
– Fine features and nicely draped.
– Two holes in the base, by the feet, probably for bolting the piece down.
– Very heavy.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. There are some very minor scuffs and marks, but no significant damage is noted.
