Description
Lovely Antique Georgian sampler dated 1773 by Maudie aged 8.
The sampler is a real social history of 18th-century Britain and would be a great addition to any antique/ Georgian interior.
The sampler begins with the alphabet and 1 1 3, then with a verse from the bible Matthew 16.26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
3r para of the Georgian sampler is a verse from John 9.5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Condition
Some fading as you would expect from a sampler of the 18th century
