A simplistic and elegant desk, likely made by French furniture manufacturer Maison Dominique and designed by André Domin. Unfortunately the piece is not marked to prove the attribution although likely dates from the early/mid 20th century. This is very similar to other pieces that have been shown in Félix Marcilhac, “Dominique, décorateur ensemblier du XXe siècle”, Les Éditions de l’Amateur, Paris, 2008.
The desk consists of a single drawer with a bronze handle upon 4 legs. The desk top has 4 panels of sycamore arranged to produce a parquetry effect.
There is some wear to the desk top in the form of a few scratches and marks, all of which have been photographed.
The desk measures 111cm W x 59cm D x 74cm H x 63cm H to underside.
